Sometimes, for a myriad reasons, your go-to (or come-to) hairdresser or beauty therapist is not available. What to do, who to see, where to go? These five sites will sort you out.
Beautyfinder With more than 6,300 hair and beauty salons, this UK-wide service has plenty to choose from. There are hair and beauty salons, spas, beauty therapists and holistic treatments.
Beauty Guild The official website of beauty professionals offers the largest searchable online salon directory in the UK, all of which are run by Guild members. As well as searching for therapists, you can buy gift vouchers or browse the online shop.

Healthy Pages If you’re looking for complementary therapies, you’ll like this site. You can search by location or by the type of therapy you would like, and the list is comprehensive. As well as beauty treatments, there are relaxing therapies such as acupressure, ear candling, hot stone therapy and reflexology.
Dermalogica For more than a quarter of a century, Dermalogica has been acknowledged worldwide as the gold standard in skin healthcare, as opposed to a mere beauty product. Here you can read about its philosophy and its products, and find a therapist in your neighbourhood.
