House of Voga returns to the City with new vegan dishes at Coq d’Argent
This year, House of Voga returns to City rooftop restaurant Coq d’Argent with two classes scheduled in for 21st January and 4th February at 11am. Classes are the perfect blend of fashion and fitness, combining yoga with the art of vogu-ing. Guests are then invited to dine at the restaurant for a special vegan menu focused around root vegetables, as part of D&D London’s Mindful City campaign. In partnership with Nuffield Health nutritionist, Jessica O’Dwyer, head chef Damien Rigollet has created the Back to Roots menu will list all nutritional benefits and properties alongside each dish including Carpaccio de betterave heritage (golden and red beetroot carpaccio, black truffle, spirulina, basil and balsamic vinaigrette); Celerie fume (baked and smoked celeriac, chargrilled sourdough toast); and Brownies au chocolat (Dark chocolate brownie, turmeric and coconut sorbet). In addition, guests ordering off the vegan menu can benefit from a 10% discount on membership to Nuffield Health City Fitness and Wellbeing, a beautiful gym in the City, located a few minutes’ walk from Coq d’Argent.
Available from Monday-Sunday, the menu is priced at 2 courses (£26.50) and 3 courses (£29.50). On Saturdays, the menu can be paired with bottomless Moet & Chandon Champagne for an extra £38pp. #MindfulCity18
Strong Men Fitness Bootcamp Brunch at German Gymnasium
On Sunday 21st January, German Gymnasium will be hosting a retro bootcamp and brunch, in collaboration with MW5 Fitness’s Martin Whitelock and D&D’s Mindful City campaign. The high intensity class will run between 10 and 11am, and will include high intensity interval training, mixing modern fitness drills with old-fashioned exercise equipment. Following the class, guests will be offered a smoothie shot, and 20% off German Gymnasium’s much-loved brunch menu should they choose to stay and dine in the Grand Café. Sunday fitness in Battersea with Boom Cycle and Fiume restaurant
This month, the recently opened Fiume restaurant are partnering with their neighbours at Battersea Power Station, Boom Cycle. On 28th January, the restaurant will be joining forces for the perfect Sunday by the river, with a workout ‘party on bike’ session starting at 12pm. Guests will then be able to freshen up with clean skincare products provided by REN (with their very own gift-set to take home), and then refuel with wholesome hearty Italian food at Fiume from their brunch menu. Tickets are £30 (includes Boom Cycle ride, Ren’s evercalm gift set and brunch at Fiume with a glass of bubbles).
German Gymnasium’s Mind Gym
On Tuesday 30th January 2018, German Gymnasium will be hosting a meditation class, in partnership with the D&D London Mindful City campaign. Taking place within their private dining room between 8 am and 9am, the class will be hosted by Dr. Sherylin Thompson, from The Being Well, who will give a seminar exploring awareness of the mind through a series of repetitions to train the muscle that is the mind. Dr. Sherylin Thompson uses a laid back approach to help people from all walks of life to build resilience and move closer towards leading more fulfilled and contented lives. Following the session, all guests wishing to stay at German Gymnasium for breakfast will be offered 20% off their bill. Food Meets Fashion at Sartoria – Ozwald Boateng teams up with Francesco Mazzei
February marks the launch of a new series of events at Sartoria under the name of “Food Meets Fashion”. Taking advantage of its prestigious location on Savile Row in Mayfair, Sartoria will be hosting a series of fashion talks and panel discussions in the restaurant’s private dining room with the first taking place on 2nd February (12-4pm) with celebrated designer, Ozwald Boateng OBE. The event will include a bespoke 3-course lunch menu, talk from Ozwald and discussion from chef patron Francesco Mazzei on his passion for cooking with leftovers and reducing food waste. Guests are also invited to visit Ozwald Boateng, on Savile Row, following the lunch.
Fassone beef masterclass at Macellaio RC
This might not seem like a health-focused event but with the Fassone beef breed actually lower in fat and cholesterol than chicken, the much-loved Italian steak restaurant, Macellaio RC Union Street and its recently-launched Butchery Masterclasses make a perfect New Year New You event. The classes involve explanations on the different cuts and offer tips for handling and cooking your meat at home, as well as sourcing the perfect wines to match. Afterwards guests are introduced to their unique in-house dry-aging process and finally, with the guidance from the expert team, will have the opportunity to put everything they have learnt into practice. Following the masterclass, guests are invited to sit down for a three-course meal in the restaurant. D&D launches inspiring speaker series as part of Mindful City campaign
As part of their #MindfulCity18 campaign, D&D London has launched a series of inspiring speakers hosting events at their restaurants throughout January and February.
